Hot Lights Assignment
1. Set up a still life and or someone to portrait. Think about form, shape, color, and background. Make sure your still life is set up in a way that you can move the light around.
2. Using the Duck file as a guide, make a photograph for each lighting situation.
3. You should have the 8 different lighting scenarios at the end of the shoot.
4. When you process them please label each image according to the direction of light as seen in the example below the duck.
Grading:
5 points total
3 points for well exposed and focused images
2 points for labelling the images correctly
Practice with the lights
1. Make a dramatic side-lit portrait. Do not use any fill. Make sure your exposure shows detail in the highlights and the shadows.
2. Using the same light from #1, add a white bounce card to fill in the shadows.
3. Make a front-lit portrait. Make sure your exposure shows detail in the highlights.
4. Using a large fill card or reflector, bounce the light off the card to light the subject
